Richelle goodrich Quotes

There are far too many silent sufferers.  Not because they don't yearn to reach out, but because they've tried and found no one who cares.

Perhaps, if you weren't so busy regarding my shortcomings, you'd find that I do possess redeeming qualities, discreet as they may be.  I notice when the sky is blue.  I smile down at children.  I laugh at any innocent attempt at humor.  I quietly carry the burdens of others as though they were my own.  And I say 'I'm sorry' when you don't.  I am not without fault, but I am not without goodness either.

There are many who don't wish to sleep for fear of nightmares. Sadly, there are many who don't wish to wake for the same fear.

There are many who don't wish to sleep for fear of nightmares. Sadly, there are many who don't wish to wake for the same fear.

You may be the only person left who believes in you, but it's enough. It takes just
one star
to pierce a universe of darkness. Never give up.

Don't ever give up.
Don't ever give in.
Don't ever stop trying.
Don't ever sell out.
And if you find yourself succumbing to one of the above for a brief moment,
pick yourself up, brush yourself off, whisper a prayer, and start where you left off.
But never, ever, ever give up.

Never give up.
It's like breathing—once you quit, your flame dies letting total darkness extinguish every last gasp of hope. You can't do that. You must continue taking in even the shallowest of breaths, continue putting forth even the smallest of efforts to sustain your dreams. Don't ever, ever, ever give up.

A daily dose of daydreaming heals the heart, soothes the soul, and strengthens the imagination.

While you judge me by my outward appearance I am silently doing the same to you, even though there's a ninety-percent chance that in both cases our assumptions are wrong.

Courage to me is doing something daring, no matter how afraid, insecure, intimidated, alone, unworthy, incapable, ridiculed or whatever other paralyzing emotion you might feel. Courage is taking action....no matter what.  So you're afraid? Be afraid.  Be scared silly to the point you're trembling and nauseous, but do it anyway!

Nothing in this world compares to the comfort and security of having someone just hold your hand.

No one is without troubles, without personal hardships and genuine challenges.  That fact may not be obvious because most people don't advertise their woes and heartaches.  But nobody, not even the purest heart, escapes life without suffering battle scars.

All I ever wanted from you was to know that I was wanted
by
you.  That would have changed everything.

To love is to accept a soul entirely, not wishing that the person was otherwise, nor hoping for change, nor clinging to some ideal past. To love is to cherish the individual standing before you presently―charms, quirks, and all. To love is to give someone a piece of your heart that you will never, ever reclaim.

What do you mean I have to wait for someone's approval?
I'm
someone.
I
approve.  So I give myself permission to move forward with my full support!

Do it again.
Play it again. Sing it again. Read it again. Write it again. Sketch it again. Rehearse it again. Run it again. Try it again.
Because
again
is practice, and practice is improvement, and improvement only leads to perfection.

Every sunrise is an invitation for us to arise and brighten someone's day.

If you plan to build walls around me, know this—I will walk through them.

You were born and with you endless possibilities, very few ever to be realized.  It's okay.  Life was never about what you
could
do, but what you
would
do.

Without you there would be no me.
I am everything reflected in your eyes.
I am everything approved by your smile.
I am everything born of your guidance.
I am me only because of you.

Who knew changing the world would prove so simple?

How often it is that we set ourselves in the high seat, judging others, not having read their book but merely having glimpsed the cover.

Be warned: A person content to sit with you and criticize others will speak critically of you out of earshot.

Gratitude doesn't change the scenery.  It merely washes clean the glass you look through so you can clearly see the colors.

Don't underestimate the power of friendship. Those bonds are tight stitches that close up the holes you might otherwise fall through.

Gratitude is medicine for a heart devastated by tragedy.  If you can only be thankful for the blue sky, then do so.

Walk with me for a while, my friend—you in my shoes, I in yours—and then let us talk.

A session of boasting won't attract any real friends.  It will set you up on a pedestal, however, making you a clearer target.

Have you ever stopped to ponder the amount of blood spilt, the volume of tears shed, the degree of pain and anguish endured, the number of noble men and women lost in battle so that we as individuals might have a say in governing our country?  Honor the lives sacrificed for your freedoms. Vote.

Disappointment is really just a term for our refusal to look on the bright side.

I'm starting to think this world is just a place for us to learn that we need each other more than we want to admit.

It's none of your concern what others say or think about you. Your happiness is your own responsibility.

Mothers observe all, absorb all,
give all, forgive all,
offer all, suffer all,
feel all, heal all,
hope for all, pray for all.
But most of all,
Mothers
love always.

To a man, sex is the ultimate expression of love. It is pure pleasure. But to a woman there exists something greater than pleasure―gestures of adoration. A gentle caress on the cheek, an attentive smile, a soft kiss while swept away in a slow dance, the whispered words
'You're beautiful'
―these are the tokens of love that women cherish.

Life has moments that feel as if the sun has blackened to tar and the entire world turned to ice.  It feels as if Hades and his vile demons have risen from the depths of Tartarus solely for the purpose of banding to personally torture you, and that their genuine intent of mental, emotional, and spiritual anguish is tearing you to shreds.  Your heart weighs as heavily as leaden legs which you would drag yourself forward with if not for the quicksand that pulls you down inch by inch, paralyzing your will and threatening oblivion.  And all the while fire and brimstone pour from the sky, pelting only you.
Truly, that is what it feels like. But that feeling is a trial that won't last forever.  Never give up.

Dear God,
I hurt. Please hold me.
Amen

The fact is, the man who’d begotten me didn’t want me. In his eyes I should never have been born. And perhaps that would’ve been best. As it was, my existence had proven to be nothing more than a nuisance for everyone. I angered my father, brought strife upon my mother, irritated my teachers, and annoyed the other children who were forced to interact with me in school. All by simply being.
When you aren’t loved, you aren’t real. Life is cold, like the stone against my palm.

What you perceive as a failure today may actually be a crucial step towards the success you seek. Never give up.

Be nice. And if you can't do that, just don't be mean.

Service
is
a smile.  It is an acknowledging wave, a reaching handshake, a friendly wink, and a warm hug.   It's these simple acts that matter most, because the greatest service to a human soul has always been the kindness of recognition.

Life is a valuable and unique opportunity
to discover who you are.
But it seems as soon as you near
answering that age-old question,
something unexpected always happens
to alter your course.
And who it is you thought you were
suddenly changes.
Then comes the frustrating realization
that no matter how long life endures,
no matter how many experiences
are muddled through in this existence,
you may never really be able
to answer the question....
Who am I?
Because the answer, like the seasons,
constantly, subtly, inevitably changes.
And who it is you are today,
is not the same person you will be tomorrow.

Just pick a goal and stick to it―no big complicated secret.

Be thankful for your allotment in an imperfect world.  Though better circumstances can be imagined, far worse are nearer misses than you probably care to realize.

There are people who are never content, never appeased, forever dissatisfied—who continually look to what escapes them, convincing themselves that if only they could attain that one desire outside of reach they would be happy.  It seems almost pointless to give to these people because their eyes immediately shift from the gift to stare miserably at the portion held back.  Their wants, demands, expectations, appetites are never satiated, thus they refuse to be happy.  And you cannot make them so.

Rain is a lullaby heard through a thick, isolating blanket of clouds. It is the tinkling harp of water droplets; a moist breath whistling through willow reeds; a pattering beat background to the mourner's melody. Rain is a soft song of compassion for the brokenhearted.

Gratitude paints little smiley faces on everything it touches.

When it comes to the crusty behavior of some people, give them the benefit of the doubt. They may be drowning right before your eyes, but you can't see it. And you would never ask someone to drown with a smile on his face.

You are here to make a difference, to either improve the world or worsen it. And whether or not you consciously choose to, you
will
accomplish one or the other.

You don't do kind deeds expecting kindness in return. You don't do kind deeds because you deem the recipient worthy. You do kind deeds because it's who you are, and because you understand the powerful difference your gentle hand makes in this dreary world.

Every once in a while God allows you to stub your toe as a kind reminder to be grateful for the miraculous body attached to it.
